This is a theorem painting (stenciled on white paper) of a small fruit basket. The image is created using a series of hand-cut stencils filled in with oil colors. Theorem paining was taught to young school girls in the early to mid-1800s. The frame opening is 6.25" x 4.25" and the overall frame size is 8 3/4" x 6 3/4". The wood frame is false-grained (by me), another Early American decorative technique.FREE SHIPPING
