Base is 100% hand dyed silk

Felted with merino wool

Accented with various yarns and fibers

12" wide x 88" long

Spot clean or hand wash cold, drip dry.  No dryer

This lovely scarf is created from silk gauze and merino wool and is lightweight but cozy...perfect year round.

Most of the roving used in this scarf comes from New York state, where it blended with silk, bamboo, tencil, and sparkly angelina. Lots of texture and a little shine! The color in this batch reminds me of tropical waters, so I used silk that I've hand dyed in a complementary color to play off those tones. The scarf is accented with coordinating art yarns that are felted in for even more interest and texture.

The edges have an organic waviness, and the ends are fringed in the merino and art yarns. It measures 12" wide and is 76" long to the end of the silk and 88" long to the end of the fringe. This generous length makes it easy to wrap around at least twice. Merino wool is very soft and not itchy against the skin, making it comfortable to wear.

I created this scarf in my Lancaster, PA studio. Nuno felting is the process of manipulating wool roving through fabric using soapy water and lots and lots of rubbing and agitation...and lots and lots of time and patience! Each piece takes several hours to create. I consider each piece "art to wear", and no two are alike.

Handwash cold, gently rinse and squeeze out excess water. Hang to dry.

Shipping:

I offer free shipping on all items and will ship within 2 business days; generally I am able to ship within 24 hours.  Items are shipped USPS Priority or First Class Mail with tracking.

Returns and Exchanges:

I consider each item a unique piece of art crafted with care and attention to detail.  Hopefully you will find your purchase even more beautiful than you imagined!  Please know that felting and fiber art is an unpredictable and organic process which I embrace.   Wavy edges and puckers in a silk scarf, for example, are part of the charm of the piece.  I try to show these characteristics in the photographs so that you can appreciated the unique qualities of the piece of wearable art that you purchase!  However, if your item is not as expected, please contact me within 7 days of receipt to discuss an exchange or return. Buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping to return an item for a refund or exchange.

Refunds:

In the case of a refund, the refund will be issued as soon as I receive the item in its original condition, less the original shipping cost.
