My name is Janet Carlson and my college degree and career were in fashion design, 25 years within the Miami garment industry.
When employment within the garment industry became intermittent, I enrolled with a local vocational school to advance my skills learning Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. In the beginning of 2009 I had filed my occupational license to start up Aquamarine Studio.
Digital paper collage captivated my interest in 2011. Since then I have created nearly 300 unique pieces.
Textile design was always on the back burner of my imagination, but I needed the skills and courage to step forward into it. I'm now a graduate of Pattern Observer Textile Design Lab, so I understand what it takes for my files to be vector, raster, color separated and in repeat.
From there I came full circle back to fashion design, this time designing my own textile designs. With access to “Made in the USA” textiles, low minimums and sublimation printing, I found that I could showcase my textile designs on my own line of board shorts.
I’m most interested in swim wear for men. My signature look could best be described as coastal and tropical. Because of my valuable experience with border and engineered panel prints while working as a fashion designer, I’m designing within this area of expertise.
I'm very much interested in sportswear. My "style" is heavily influenced by life in South Florida, where we are surrounded by people from every culture and nation.

Because the shorts are slim fitting, I would strongly advise to pay close attention to the measurements before placing your order. If in doubt, choose your size by your largest body measurement. In most cases that would be your hips or waistline.
